Twenty-one-year old Perth woman Danielle Collis has traded in sand for snow by moving to Budapest to host an interactive TV game show.
The show, Call and Win, airs on TV4ME twice daily, morning and night.
Viewers can participate by solving the puzzle on screen and calling the number provided for a chance to win cash.
The former ‘Chiko Chick’, a title from a beauty competition run by the makers of Chiko Rolls, is no stranger to the camera having presented for a series of surf competitions, but Miss Collis says her current role is very different.
“Unlike my previous role the show is unscripted, it’s completely ad lib and the fact the show is live is very nerve racking,” she said.
Miss Collis, who had never been to Budapest before, came across the opportunity online and was offered the position after an interview via Skype.
The gig was ideal for her after moving to Melbourne earlier this year to pursue her career.
Goodbye summer. Danielle Collis soaking up the Perth sun before heading to Budapest late last week.
“There were multiple reasons why I moved to Melbourne, more opportunities in the industry I wanted to be in was certainly one of them,” she said.
Miss Collis has been keeping busy over east booking a number of modelling jobs and completing a double degree in Commerce and Arts.
She will spend the next three months working in Budapest, with her contract ending in December.
“The company has actually offered for me to stay longer,” she said.
“My plans are to finish my contract, travel around Europe or North Africa and then possibly come back for another three months.”
With end of year temperatures dropping to below zero, the Hungarian winter holds no fears for Miss Collis even though she’s more used to spending her summers at Scarborough beach.
“Hungarian winter is similar to Melbourne so I’ll be ok! Hopefully it will be a white Christmas,” she said.
As for what’s to follow after Budapest, Miss Collis said she is taking it as it comes.
“I am looking forward to finishing my degree, travelling the world and finding what it is that will tempt me into a new business venture”.
